AWESOME Job!, congratulations :) I've been thinking of undertaking a (half) marathon myself, and your story is an inspiration! Just what I needed to read !!!

FANTASTIC post. I was enthusiastic, tired, uplifted, and inspired by following along.

My "epic battle", in my much thinner years, was a 5k. NEVER AGAIN!! I REALLY admire you doing a marathon!!

Did you see that this made the Wednesday TIG/Explore page? Well deserved!!

Hi!

Found this by the [TIG], and just wanted to say WELL DONE! (and well written too!)

I have been following your blog journey to this point and I just wanted to say a great big well done! your story was so emotional and inspiring and you ran for a great cause.
thanks for the post :)
As a runner, I just wanted to let you know that I have a lot of respect for the fact that you ran a marathon! This was a great post, and was very emotional!
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone's comments. I have had a few days to think about finishing my first marathon and hobbling up and down painful staircases, and I have found that time is truly relentless in life just as it is in the final miles of a marathon. You want to hold onto the past and live in the moment for as long as you can when it's this wonderful, but you have to move on. And so now I need to see a podiatrist about the PF in my right foot and then schedule my next marathon, possibly Miami in January or London in April. And a bunch of Halfs and 10Ks. I'm ready to run again. Thank you all.
London Marathon is great! Loved it!

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

BTW...as an alum of UK, I think your dad would be proud that you took the Wildcat along with you.

Wow mark. Wow. What an amazing story! I'm overcome.

Thanks for writing it down and sharing.

Take care of that foot.
Thanks, I am going to get the foot checked out by a podiatrist. Today I ran for the first time since the marathon -- four miles in Central Park. It was so different. It was like old times, no crowds, no official finish line...just me and Central Park. Felt great. I appreciate the comments.
I just happened to come across your post. I really enjoyed it, it was a great read. 40,000 runners in one place, I simply cannot conceive of that!!! My races are always 200 or less. Don't be bummed about your time- the marathon is a long way and is something to be proud of no matter your time or place. I am a middle to back of the packer and dang proud of it. That is where all the people who tell the most interesting stories usually are anyway. I hope that by now you are feeling better and your PF is gone. I had a bout of that once among my numerous other injuries and it took quite a while to get better. Thanks again for your post.
