NERVOUS
...I will be either really happy or really bummed out after noon today...all coming down to this...98,000 apps for 38,000 spots in the field of the world's biggest marathon...and my would-be first. I just qualified for the 2008 NYC Marathon by virtue of running a minimum nine qualifying NY Road Runners events in 2007...but I have to go through the lottery for this November's race because I just joined NYRR last December.
Sorry for the absence here but this past week I was in FLA working our Major League Baseball Draft at Disney's Wide World of Sports, then I went over to Cocoa Beach and ran 8 miles on the beach and watched Space Shuttle Atlantis blast off, and preparing for our All-Star Game...been a blur but getting 28-30 miles a week of running in and I just finished an awesome and highly recommended book: Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time. (Clickable in my Books section.)
Big Father's Day upcoming, trying to get back to St. Louis this weekend to spend it with my boys. Right now focused on one big piece of news and that's above...MAJOR BUTTERFLIES
