The start of the Healthy Kidney 10K on May 20 at Central Park. That is the beginning of a duel between Buster and Ritz, and the latter set the Central Park 10K (one loop) course record of 28:08! I'm back in the pack, took me twice as long to finish.
Buster is a giant! (Especially when compared to Khalid Khannouchi next to him). You don't see many really tall elite runners. I'm surprised Khalid didn't podium. He's always the favorite here in Chicago, having won Chicago I think 3 times.
Yeah, he was announced before the race by Mary Wittenberg as the three-time champ of the Chicago Marathon. BTW, I never knew "podium" was a verb! That's pretty cool! I'd use it but I don't see myself podiuming anytime soon! lol
